What geographical area do you cover?
The Turner Quartet plays mostly in the South East of England. We are always happy to travel further afield, but will need to add travel expenses, and sometime accommodation, to our bill.
What requirements do you have regarding refreshment?
We ask that soft drinks are provided throughout the event. For bookings of 3 hours or more we ask for a meal.
What requirements do you have regarding space and equipment?
We need a level, well lit area covering approximately 2.5 x 2 metres (about 6.5 X 8.5 feet,) with four armless chairs. If you can also provide somewhere secure that we can leave our instrument cases, this will improve the visual appearance of the quartet.
Are you able to play outdoors?
We are happy to play outdoors when the weather is amenable, however we do usually need to be under cover and shaded, this is to protect our instruments which are several hundred years old! Having three sides on a gazebo or similar structure helps to direct the sound towards your guests.
Will you need to take breaks?
Yes, but we can try to schedule these to fit with your event. As an average we need a ten minute rest every hour.
What do the string quartet wear?
We wear formal black outfits. We are happy to consider other outfits if you can supply them in good time prior to the event.
What are your rates?
Our rates are dependent on location and duration. Please contact us to tell us where and when your event is, plus timings if you know them. We will then contact you back with an estimated price.
